SHAYNE SAYS VIVE L'EVOLUTION!

X-Factor heartthrob Shayne Ward's eagerly awaited new album will sing the praises of evolution. The 22 year old Mancunian told reporters that he's doing everything he can to promote the teaching of Darwin's famous theory in schools all over the world, fearing that the battle for the minds of tomorrow's children may be won by superstition rather than reason.
"I saw this web site about Intelligent Design (rival theory to evolution proposed by religious fundamentalists - ed.) and it was well frightening, man," he told us. "Intelligent Design ain't science. It's just religious dogma dressed up as science. Teach it in R.E. if you must - but in science lessons? Forget it!"

The only intelligent design visible in this picture is the work of Calvin Klein

Ward first became interested in evolutionary biology after seeing an edition of the BBC 2 science programme Horizon as a child.
"It was wicked," he said. "Richard Dawkins put it all into context for me. He showed how complex organisms can arise naturally without the need for divine intervention. Even something as complex as the eye can develop by a steady process of continual improvement."
Ward added that he no longer watches Horizon, complaining that it has gone "too tabloidy".
Evolver - A Groove to the Music of Time - is released on October 12th.
WINDYPOPS SAYS: Talk about survival of the fittest! We wouldn't kick Shayne out of bed even if he was a Creationist!
